After lying dormant on original material for nearly a year, Nashville trio BASECAMP returns with “Shudder,” a breezy, upbeat new single that won’t be featured on their forthcoming sophomore EP. It’s a fitting follow-up to BASECAMP’s self-titled debut project, pushing the group’s song craft a bit further and polishing up an already well-manicured take an alternative R&B. “Shudder”  channels a seeming fixation on garage and two-step, keeping the trio’s excellent production in place around singer Aaron Harmon’s alluring vocal. It nudges BASECAMP’s sound to a more accessible place without losing the character of the songs that initially caught our ears.
