There’s nothing flashy or in-your-face about Sharon Van Etten and her performance of “Every Time The Sun Comes Up” on The Late Show with David Letterman. It’s tight, professional, and on-point, She’s not a performer in the way that, say, St. Vincent is. But her performance here is proof that when you’ve got a great song and a good band and a voice that exudes power, sometimes you can let those things speak for themselves.
