After hearing Yung Simmie‘s “Full Metal Freestyle” about a month ago, it was apparent that Raider Klan had another young talent brewing in their camp. Simmie—who grew up in Florida—stays true to the group’s dark and bass-heavy aesthetic, but provides a little bit more punch with his captivating flow and inflection, something that can be heard again on his song “Lyrical Excersise.”
The video is released alongside his debut album Shut Up and Vibe 2, which dropped today via Raider Klan Records. The visuals themselves are nothing ground-breaking, but the ominous visuals—complete with hockey mask—supply a perfect introduction to Simmie’s menacing style.
