Lil Silva’s new EP, Mabel, is packed with his best work yet. The talented producer combines the crisp percussion and chest-shaking bass that marked out something like 2010’s Night Skanker EP as so special, with a wonderful use of space and texture, not to mention winning vocals from BANKS and Lil Silva himself. “Mabel” is a perfect combination of all those talents, with the vocals building to a hymnal high-point as a gritty bassline bubbles underneath.
This is futuristic pop music that could only come from the UK, and “Mabel” now has a very British video, with director Laura Coulson drawing out the beauty of seemingly mundane situations. Check it out above.
