After a significant time riding the wave off her fabulous debut release Z, SZA has begun to release new music again. Dropping the song “Moodring” only a matter of days ago, TDE‘s first lady has just released “Divinity,” a smooth duet with none other than the legendary singer and actress Jill Scott.
The song—which works to bind together two different generations of R&B—is produced by the impressive Om’Mas Keith—best known for his work with Frank Ocean. Over minimal instrumentation the two singers casually layer their immaculate vocals, taking turns exercising their sweet and soulful pipes. At seven and a half minutes it’s not your conventional song, but nevertheless extremely captivating to listen to.
