Dizzee Rascal and Fekky Update a Classic on "Still Sittin' Here"

Around 1 minute and 15 seconds into this song, Dizzee Rascal, the biggest star in grime’s history, starts spitting over a nasty, bass-heavy beat, and all is well in the world. Dizzee’s recent output has been so far removed from the brilliance of his game-changing first two albums, both in terms of content (now it’s all party, party, Ibiza, girls) and production (Calvin Harris and Will.i.am-esque dance pop), so it’s nice to see him finally rolling back the years.

Interestingly, it’s “Still Sittin’ Here,” a trapped-out update of his classic Boy In Da Corner album opener “Sittin’ Here,” that sees Dizzee returning to form, and also proving that he is fully self-aware. “But you don’t want to hear me complain about the pitfalls of fame / You wanna see me knuckle up and go against the grain,” he says.

Sums it up pretty well, really. Check out the new track above, and the original “Sittin’ Here” below.
