It’s been a couple of months since we last heard from rapper Big K.R.I.T., who shared the first track—“Mt. Olympus”—off his upcoming album Cadillactica back in April. Yesterday, the Mississippi rapper dropped “Pay Attention,” a sweet collaboration with fellow Southern musician Rico Love, and the second track off his anticipated sixth album.
“Pay Attention” strays from the quick-fire aggression showcased in “Mt. Olympus,” over a soothing beat from Jim Jonsin, K.R.I.T. is able to flex his lyrical abilities while staying relatively laid-back. To further enhance the mood, Love supplies his silky vocals, which flutter in and out of the track with thoughtful precision.
