Video: The Knife - "För Alla Namn Vi Inte Får Använda"

The Knife preview one of the songs for their "Political Activist Cabaret" with a new video full of dance.

A while back, Swedish experimentalists The Knife announced that they were making new music for a “Political Activist Cabaret” by Nasim Aghili. Created in conjunction with art collective Ful for Europa Europa, “För Alla Namn Vi Inte Får Använda” and its accompanying video is one of the songs from the cabaret.

The video description explains:

With the cabaret Europa Europa and the song and music video “För alla namn vi inte får använda” by Europa Europa and The Knife we want to praise all those hundreds of thousands of people who defy the cameras, the deadly waters, the barbed wire, the violence and the compact political resistance, and make it across the external and internal borders of Europe every year.

The song and the video (as well as the sentiment behind it) follow in the footsteps of 2013’s Shaking the Habitual, which saw The Knife mostly ditching their adventurous pop sound for more of an animalistic sound heavy on organic drums. The track also features Karin Dreijer Andersson singing in Swedish. Europa Europa will premiere July 1 in Almedalen, Sweden.
