Video: TCVVX - "Clocks"

Rising New York artist TCVVX made a splash earlier this month with his first official single, an introspective cut called “Clocks” off his forthcoming, self-titled album. The song has a new wave R&B vibe that would fit in with The Weeknd’s catalogue, but it’s undoubtedly fresh at the same time. Today—riding the momentum of the track’s early success—TC reignites the conversation with an excellent accompanying video.

Directed by Conkrete Media Group, the visuals find TC traipsing through the city at night, his mind free-floating as he croons, ” You should slow it down, why always be on time for everything?” Portraits of women rushing to get to work and catch trains on time are juxtaposed with shots of TC wandering with no particular destination, clearly wondering why it should ever have to be any other way. It’s a powerful visual representation of the song’s message—one that’s crossed all of our minds at least once before. TC’s vocals mesh beautifully with the immersive production, and even at this early stage of his career, he seems to be developing a distinct voice. Watch “Clocks” in full above, and stay tuned for more. His debut album is expected to arrive by summer’s end.
