We were introduced to Sevdaliza, a singer who was born in Iran but left for The Netherlands when she was five years old, through the “Clear Air” video, a riotous, colorful visual that was the prefect accompaniment to the pounding song. Today, she’s back, with another mysterious and engaging song, “Sirens of the Caspian.”
It start with a tension-building quote from the brilliant French film La Haine, and builds slowly, finally exploding in a cascade of bass and pitched down vocals around the 2.10 mark. Sevdaliza, you definitely have our attention.
UPDATE: Sevdaliza has just released a gorgeous video for this song (premiered on Fader), watch that above.
