Johnny Lloyd emerged from the ashes of his previous band Tribes earlier this year, albeit with a considerably different sound. The former frontman of the London-based band kept quiet on what exactly he’s been up to, but his music speaks loud enough that it hardly matters. His lo-fi melancholy is decidedly unpolished, and it’s all the better for its roughness. It’s mostly minimal music—just guitar, vocals, and slight percussion—but his musical aspirations seem no less grand for it.
