In recent years, not a whole lot has come from the South Dakota music scene, EMA being an exception. After releasing her sophomore album in April via the distinguished City Slang Records, Erika M. Anderson a.k.a EMA, has shared an awesome, previously unreleased bonus track. The singer-songwriter gives us “Drown,” an elaborate, melancholy tune, with tension comparable to the Jaws theme song. Half-singing, half-whispering, EMA crawls through the song, building the momentum as the pounding beat reverbs behind her.
