We’re always talking about how much great music is coming out of London, and recently we’ve been especially impressed by a huge crop of fresh, exciting talent coming out of Australia, so it’s fitting that today’s Daily Discovery is born of those two locations.

Count Counsellor are a collective with members originally from Adelaide in Australia, as well as London, and are currently based in a studio in South London. “Collide” (listen below), situates them as part the current wave of alt-R&B, with its delicate vocals and subtle but bass-filled electronic, but “Warm Bullet” is altogether more intriguing. There are twinkling keys throughout, an interesting contrast with the crisp, hip-hop bounce of the drums and the pitched down vocals that come in and out. All these interesting production techniques serve to enhance the impact of the vocals, warm and smoky and endlessly replayable.

The final product lies somewhere between recent P&P favorites Oceaan and Shivum Sharma, all delivered with a certain restraint and maturity that makes Count Counsellor one artist we’ll be keeping a very close eye on.
