Between Shabbazz Palaces and clipping., Sub Pop is carving out a new lane for hip-hop with a modern, alternative twist. With the debut album CLPPNG out on June 9, the Los Angeles trio (rapper Daveed Diggs, producers Jonathan Snipes and William Hutson) let go of a new song called “Body and Blood.” The group isn’t new to this kind of abrasive hip-hop, but in a 2014 post-Yeezus world, it seems like the timing is finally right for the world to get familiar with clipping.
