The 15 Best No Limit Records Album Covers

Today is Percy "Master P" Miller's 44th birthday. While he prepares to receive gifts that he probably has no interest in (what do you get a man who already has gold ceilings?), it's only right that we take a look back at the greatest gifts P has blessed the world with: the album covers for No Limit Records. Here are 15 of the best.

Here we find Soulja Slim in the middle of a war. A fully armed tank stares us down. Fighter jets and missles tear through the sky. The battlefield is engulfed in flames. Does any of this phase Slim? Of course not. Look at the poise on his face. A rocket just barely missed his head but Slim doesn't even blink. If I'm ever going to war, I hope that my squad is led by someone with half the confidence Soulja Slim has.

For a while I thought American Express was the leader in rap credit. Having a black card meant you made it, and you could have all the Margiela and raw oysters you desired. Then I discovered the gold Ghetto Express card that Silkk The Shocker owns. Here Silkk stands in some sort of golden cathedral, ready to buy God knows what. His disembodied hand reaches out to charge his many purchases not to his own account, but "2 da game."

A good No Limit album cover doesn't waste any space. Here on Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told, Snoop wastes no real estate. A small empty patch of blue sky? Put a helicopter there. Is that one big house or two separate properties? Who knows, but let's put a giant stone SNOOP WORLD gazebo in the middle.

The 7 Sins cover depicts some intense brother betrayal. Kane & Abel have met near some overgrown ruins to settle their feelings about this mysterious lady in red. Which brother took a bite of the apple our lady is so awkwardly holding? Does that gun have a laser pointer attachment? What's in the box?!

I'm not sure either Mia here is good. One is surrounded by flames, possibly trying to instigate a fight. The other Mia glares at the camera, daring you to get mad at her for cooking up. Let that girl cook!

Over an American flag back drop, Full Blooded hits us with the most patriotic album in the No Limit catalog. But for some reason he decides the best way to honor veterans is to dig up a graveyard with his massive hands. Whatever you want Full Blooded, whatever you want.

There's "Jay Z money" and then there's "Lil Italy money." "

"Jay Z money" is tied up in record deals, clothes and swaggerless NBA players. He's "really half a billi" but does he ever physically see any of that money? No. Meanwhile, Lil Italy has mounds of cash just laying in the driveway of his European manor. Lil Italy pulls up in his Bentley, while some Lil Italy clones count the money (there's so much that one man could not possibly count it all on his own), and omnipresent Lil Italy oversees the entire process.

Mercedes is not playing around with this one. Parked the car on an aqua green marble floor, and popped it up right there.

Here we have an undead C-Murder sitting upon his stone throne. He is half man, half bone, but all business. This is a very grim cover with many images alluding to death. He sits on a grave, is caught in a giant spider's web, a bird of prey stares into his soul and a python is eating a rodent at his feet.

Regardless of C-Murder's imminent death, he doesn't miss the chance to include a cigar and a diamond ring on his still living hand. Never stop shining, C-Murder.

What a fun puzzle. At a glance it appears simple, but then you notice the cross shaped piece missing from Mystikal's left cheek. The R.I.P piece clearly fits, but the image would look all wrong. Is this a 3D puzzle? What about the soldiers in the top right corner? What's the document in the bottom left?

There's more here than meets the eye, and only Mystikal knows the answers.

Let us never forget that Master P was signed to the Hornets and Raptors for brief periods of time. Though he never played in the regular season, he made sure this memory lives forever by making an album including the only three existing pictures from his NBA days. He also autographed his own album, helpfully avoiding any annoying album signing meet and greets.

We find Mia in a No Limit office, which for some reason looks very similar to a Chinese restaurant. Mia X has gone from good to bad to full on Mrs. Tony Montana. Her behavior is anything but ladylike.

"Nothing is certain but death and taxes." While this holds true for most of us, Young Bleed is immortal and hates taxes. He also has a home that is located in the clouds. To get there you must climb a lengthy set of solid gold stairs, but only after you pass the guard tigers. After a long day, Bleed heads to his mansion with what looks like a phone book. Who is he calling? What service is he looking up? What are those birds doing?

With so many questions in life, it's good to know that Young Bleed will always have his balls and his word.

This cover is overflowing with betrayal, and clues that make me believe there is a story of Da Vinci Code level intrigue behind it. For one, I'm not buying the tears of this grieving widow. She's a liar and most likely responsible for this death. Her left hand appears to be pointing into the coffin, or possibly beneath it. Mr. Serv-on watches on, as she must be pointing to an important location.

Maybe it's where Serv-on is supposed to hide the mysterious document he has in his hands? Is this the same document from Mystikal's Unpredictable album? How is that briefcase balancing on the coffin? We may never know...

A true soap opera caught in one image. Percy is in it, and life is good. It's getting hot and heavy, but the lovers are oblivious to a shooter creeping in the window. This is definitely a motel, and the hanging bra indicates the two are getting through this smackfest as fast as possible. This is yet another No Limit album cover dedicated to betrayal and the consequences.

However, you can see the pain in the shooter's eyes, and part of me thinks that he's not even going to kill them. The shooter has made his own mistakes, and knows that inner demons will do more damage than he ever could. Damn, No Limit covers are deep.
