I fell in love with Arkon Fly’s wonderfully soulful “Through The Fire” back in August last year, as soon as the vocals dropped away, and that funky bassline kicked in around 30 seconds in.
Evidently, it wasn’t just me who appreciated Arkon Fly’s awesomeness, as “Through The Fire” is coming out on April 21 as the first release on the recently relaunched label Locked On, a key player in UK garage music in the mid ’90s and home to releases from artists like The Streets and Zed Bias. Coming through with a remix is the absurdly young Kyogi (age 16), who keeps those rich vocals at the center and adds some nice garage swing, an appropriate homage to Locked On’s origins.
