On August 1, Universal’s James Brown biopic, Get On Up, will be released in theaters. Featuring Chadwick Boseman as the Godfather of Soul, Viola Davis, Dan Aykroyd, Jill Scott, and many others, the biopic hopes to take audiences “on the journey from his impoverished childhood to his evolution into one of the most influential figures of the 20th century.” Get On Up was directed by Tate Taylor (The Help) and produced by Mick Jagger (yes, that Mick Jagger) and Brian Gazer (8 Mile, A Beautiful Mind).
