Watch GZA's TEDxTeen Talk on the "Genius of Science"

Watch Wu-Tang Clan's GZA give his talk on the "Genius of Science" at TEDxTeen.

“Hip hop is my vehicle to scientific and universal enlightenment,” explained GZA during his recent talk at TEDxTeen. The Genius, who has given lectures at Harvard, Oxford, USC, MIT, NYU, Cornell, and JPL/NASA, made a case for the bridge between hip hop and science, telling stories of his interest in both at a young age and discussing the Science Genius education program for which he co-founded. Near the end of the video are the fruits of GZA’s labor—a handful of high school students from the program rap about gravitation and evolution.

Science Genius, created by GZA and Christopher Emdin of Teachers College, is a program that aims to engage high school students in science through hip hop. GZA’s forthcoming physics-inspired album, Dark Matter, is coming soon. Watch his TEDxTeen talk above.
