Ever since SOHN first blessed us with “The Wheel,” the Vienna-based producer has supplied listeners with a steady stream of instrumentals, remixes, and vocal tracks. With his full-length Tremors due out next month on 4AD, SOHN turns to another medium to whip up promotion: video.
“There’s this misconception that I’m a producer who then decided to sing but actually I’m a singer who got the chance to produce,” SOHN said in a recent interview with Vogue. We get the best of both worlds in this “Artifice,” a glowing set of neon tubes and shadows that leaves the viewer feeling like one of SOHN’s bouncing synths, pulled up and down a scale between the strobe lights. A new video will be released each week in the lead-up to Tremors. The album itself comes out April 7.
