A bit of music for reflection on a Friday as spring peaks around the corner (unless, of course, you find yourself in Los Angeles where seasons don’t exist).
Germany’s Roosevelt delivers a beautiful cover of an equally pretty song, John Martyn’s “Small Hours.” It’s a great thing any time a song inspires diving into the YouTube wormhole and traveling back to 1977 to find obscure ambient music. It’s an even better thing when the update turns mellow source material into a proto-disco jam, the perfect song to soundtrack a lazy afternoon or cause a field of festival goers to nod in unison as the sun sets.
