Hailing from the UK, the quickly rising electro-funk act Meanwhile recently released his debut track, “Luvletta.” As far as first impressions go, this song is about as good as it gets. The track is a fast-paced, high-energy groove that will likely invoke comparisons to Prince. Amazingly, it doesn’t feel like hyperbole to invite such lofty company either.
“Luvletta” is a throwback jam, packed with big beats, skittish synths, and some powerful guitar riffs. There’s no word as to when we can expect a full album from Meanwhile, but let’s hope that it’s coming soon.
