Last June when Lil Wayne appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the rapper spoke about his possible retirement after his upcoming Tha Carter V, saying, “I want to do things that I never could before, things like spend quality time with my kids.” It appears that Wayne is sticking to this sentiment, telling MTV in a recent interview, “I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes and it’s definitely the final Carter album. It’s the final Carter album. It’s stopping at five.”
Though that doesn’t mean that the rapper will fully step out of the spotlight. Wayne explained that he still plans to do guest features and collaborative albums, like the Young Money albums or projects like his and Birdman’s Like Father, Like Son. But for now, Wayne seems busy enough finishing up Tha Carter V, admitting, “It seems like it will be impossible for me to work this hard again for anything else.” Watch the full interview above.
