Normally for the Daily Discovery, we do a short interview with the artist or provide some background information or insight into their history. In the case of Sevdaliza, we don’t have much to offer. This is Sevdaliza’s first official release, although she’s got a few other things on YouTube and SoundCloud. She was born in Iran and left for The Netherlands when she was five years old. She’s been living there and working on music with people she knows. That’s all we have for now.
But shit, “Clear Air” is not the work of an amateur. There is an intensity to this song and video that make it very clear that Sevdaliza knows exactly what she’s doing, and she’s doing it with purpose. The song sounds modern, but there is something primal at its core. We look forward to hearing more.
