Near the end of last year, London’s Lukas Freeman released his RoughLove EP, a project that reflected the storm of sounds he grew up listening to: grime, garage, and rap. But through all of that, there is a pop sensibility. It’s clouded, dark, and disjointed, but it’s there, and it makes songs like “Loving You Wrong” as satisfying as they are abrasive.
