The genre-defying sounds of Sisyphus are back with the “Rhythm of Devotion,” a six-minute epic that allows all three members to showcase their unique abilities. Sufjan Stevens, Son Lux, and Serengeti first released an album together back in 2012, and they’ve expanded their collaborations to include visual art this time around.

They were called s/s/s/ then, but they’ve become Sisyphus since. The trio have paired with visual artist Jim Hodges and Minnesota’s Walker Art Center for an exhibition that will coincide with the release of their debut full length album on March 18.

“Rhythm of Devotion” is a predictably unpredictable swoon through hip-hop, new age disco, and Sufjan’s breathy reassurance. It builds beautifully, working in movements rather than verses and choruses with just enough dissonance to keep things interesting. Stream below:
