Brian Eno, James Murphy, Giorgio Moroder, & Erykah Badu Speak in the Trailer for RBMA's New Film

Red Bull are constantly reaffirming their commitment to supporting and examining music and the culture that surrounds it through the Red Bull Music Academy. Alongside regular shows, last year saw a series of mini-documentaries exploring different musical genres like “beats” music, modern R&B, and pop. Flying Lotus, Miguel, AlunaGeorge, and Hudson Mohawke spoke in that series, but now RBMA are presenting a feature length film, What Difference Does It Make? A Film About Making Music, and they have got some real musical heavyweights involved.

Directed by Ralf Schmerbeg, and shot at the 2013 Red Bull Music Academy in New York, the film “explores the challenges that a life in music can bring,” seeking to “go beyond music, and ask questions about life itself.” It will be out February 18, and features Brian Eno, Philip Glass, Giorgio Moroder, Erykah Badu, Nile Rodgers, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Q-Tip, Richie Hawtin, James Murphy, Debbie Harry, and lots more. Watch the trailer above.

RBMA also recently released a book, For The Record, which is a collection of “15 conversations with people who have shaped the way we listen to music.”
