Psychedelic rock is alive and well. What began with Tame Impala in Australia has morphed into the form of Temples, and the British rockers have released a video for “Mesmerise” that proves the point.
A spinning pyramid pokes its way around a maze, eventually gathering enough mystic power to awaken a wall of stones faces bearing eerie resemblance to the band themselves. It’s full of fun, creative animations that back the band’s tight songwriting and the addictive chorus of “Mesmerise” quite nicely.
Temples’ album, Sun Structures, is out February 11. They’ll support it with a trip to North America that includes Coachella and the NME Awards tour. Stream the video for “Mesmerise” above.
