Raury - "Bloom"

None

For more than a decade now, Atlanta has been a hotbed of creativity, recently witnessing a particular resurgence as an artistic hotbed. While the landscape is dominated by certain recognizable sounds, Atlanta isn’t just for strip club anthems and riot-ready rap.

Singer Raury’s “Bloom” is a refreshingly delicate attempt to win a girl’s favor. It’s disarmingly simple, guitar and kick drum forming a lilting, pretty backdrop for Raury’s emotive voice, surprising rapping, and disarmingly plainspoken appeals to love: “It can be the two of us/Just the two of us/All alone from dawn till dusk/So gimme your trust.”

“Bloom” feels born of another time, never abandoning modern touches but aspiring to something higher than “hit of the moment” status. Listen below.
