Atlanta rapper Que has yet to reach the level of saturation that his Atlanta cohorts and collaborators Migos enjoyed throughout the latter half of 2013 (and that fellow Atlantan and P&P favorite Young Thug is experiencing as we speak). With the recent rise of his single “OG Bobby Johnson”–yet another in a line of songs poised to achieve wider awareness atop its success in the city that still proves to be the south’s most influential–Que seems a likely candidate to be Altanta’s breakout rapper in 2014.
Recent release “From The Jump” continues to exhibit Que’s particular skill for writing hooks you’ll probably end up shouting drunk in a club. It’s not quite as immediate or brutally visceral as “OG Bobby Johnson,” but it gets the job done–especially if you’ve got a drink at the ready.
As a bonus, check out “Clip So Long,” a Sonny Digital-produced collaboration with Juicy J built around one of the most memorable lines from “OG Bobby Johnson.”
