Ever since we premiered Marian Hill’s first single, “Lovit,” the Philadelphia duo have become a band we’ve been extremely anxious to hear new music from. Today, our wish has finally been granted and as hoped, it does not disappoint in the least. “One Time” plays upon the same smoky blend of blues, R&B and pop nuances that worked so well for them the first time. And according to the duo, their process for creating their music is as organic as you’d expect:
“Our process is very collaborative — Jeremy makes the skeleton of a beat and then we sit writing together, pitching lyric ideas and singing melodies to each other until we find the perfect combination.”
“One Time” will be featured on the band’s debut EP Play which will be out on March 4, and if you’re in the Philly area, they’ll be paying their first show at Boot & Saddle February 25. In the meantime, listen to their sultry new song below.
