It’s sleek and restrained with a melody that recalls Alanis Morissette in her prime, except this is Kyla’s most modern-sounding pop song yet, and it may also be her best. With a minimalist, electronic touch and gentle vocals, Kyla’s recent influences reveal themselves—she’s been listening to Burial, Fever Ray, and Four Tet.
