It’s been a while since we heard from Ghostly Industries signee Lord RAJA, but man is it good to have him back. With the surreal “Indian & Thistlex” dropping seemingly out of nowhere, this cacophonous new track strikes a compelling middle-ground between the ambient works of Aphex Twin and the beatwork of J Dilla. Its enveloping atmosphere is divine and a perfect example of why the follow-up to the free “Rubies EP” can’t arrive soon enough. If this is bit a hint of where he’s taking his ever-evolving material, then it’s about time we all start getting excited.
