Roping in Kingdom to remix your debut single is a strong move. The Fade To Mind bossman, winning producer, and recent mastermind behind some of the best songs on Kelela’s mixtape submerges Kyan’s vocals in a haze of warm melodies, crisp drums, and gunshots (because what song doesn’t benefit from a few gunshots?), making for an even more engrossing listen than the source material.
British singer Kyan’s original “Rosetta” is great too, albeit in a more direct and catchy way, with a soaring chorus and a smooth, funky, drawn out final section. “Rosetta” is out in March, followed by Kyan’s debut EP, The Purple Experiment. The singer is about to head out on a UK tour with London Grammar.
