Disclosure, James Blake, Lorde Nominated for 2014 Brit Awards

None

Just after the Grammys air in less than two weeks, the UK’s version of the Grammys aptly titled the Brit Awards follow suit at the start of February. And today the nominees for the Britain’s highest music awards were announced with electronic duo Disclosure coming up big with four nominations, including British Group, British Breakthrough Act, British Album of the Year, and British Single of the Year for “White Noise” featuring AlunaGeorge. Rudimental and Ellie Goulding weren’t far behind each nabbing three nominations. And having recently won the highly coveted Mercury Prize, James Blake seems a shoe-in for British Male Solo Artist—though he is up against David Bowie.

While the awards are meant to honor British artists, it does celebrate the year’s best international artists as well. Picking up their first ever Brit nominations, both Lorde and Drake are up for International Female and Male Solo Artist, respectively. Arcade Fire, HAIM, and Daft Punk each were nominated for International Group.

One award has actually already been given out with Sam Smith awarded the Critics Choice award earlier tonight in London beating out Ella Eyre and Chlöe Howl.

The Brits air Wednesday, February 19 on ITV. See the full list of nominees below.
