Trent Reznor and Dr. Dre are Launching Their Music Streaming Service in January

None

Today, Trent Reznor has announced that, along with Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, their new music streaming service, powered by Beats Electronics, will be launching in January. Simply known as Beats Music, which is currently undergoing testing by artists and “other influences,” users can now pre-register for it and claim his or her username.

In a 2012 interview with the New Yorker, Reznor explained exactly how the service works: it “uses mathematics to offer suggestions to the listener… [but also] would present choices based partly on suggestions made by connoisseurs.” To emphasize why consumers would prefer Beats Music over other services, he explains that Beats Music is essentially the missing link as a “service that adds a layer of intelligent curation.”
