And the beat goes on. Nearly seven years after the man started excising his demons into songs and videos, R. Kelly‘s Trapped in the Closet hip-hopera has been resurrected. The insatiable Mr. Kelly announced that new chapters of the story will air on IFC next year. The film channel already has the 33 existing episodes streaming for your convenience.

If you haven’t been introduced to Sylvester, Twan, or Pimp Lucius’s stutter, now would be a good time to start. R. Kelly wrote and produced Trapped in the Closet from 2005-2012, and has expressed in interviews how important the piece has become to him. “I’m gonna be forever writing these chapters,” he told Entertainment Weekly in 2012. “Because now I’ve created a fan base out there that deserves to hear what’s next.” He also pulled the curtain back on his creative process in the same interview: “If I struggle with what Pimp Lucius is going to say to Twan, what I will do is sometimes I’ll go and put on a tacky suit and a wig and some tacky glasses and some shoes with heels,” he said. “I have to really dress up sometimes to get into character for the character to come alive in me.” Check back for updates as they come, and for now, the midget scene:
