Matching the darkly epic scope of the single that it accompanies, the video for Freddie Dickson‘s “Minimal Love” is a vision of striking isolation. Plotless and stark, it chronicles a man’s journey through vast, empty fields and hills under ominous clouds, running as the sun sets (or rises–it’s unclear, but given the song’s ambitious melancholy, it’s safe to assume the former). It’s a simple, effective treatment of the source material, beautiful and cinematic without distracting from the song, adding a sense of aching loneliness to an already emotionally affecting song.
