Little May - "Hide"

None

In 2013, folk is not an easy niche for an artist to define themselves by. In a musical landscape that’s dominated by electro/pop/R&B hybrids, there’s not a ton of room for those songs heavily driven by layered guitar progressions and minimal percussion. And what room that is available, has already been fiercely marked by bands that have made the mainstream crossover, like Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers and Of Monsters and Men. But Australian trio Little May have proven with “Hide” that they have the innate talent to hold their own in either arena. “Hide” isn’t a track that feels desperate to fit a trend, instead sounding like a much more organic production complete with saccharine vocals and an infectious blend of anthemic guitars and drums. The song is off the trio’s forthcoming debut EP which is set for release in early 2014. Stream it below.
