To celebrate their five year anniversary, indie label Mexican Summer are putting out a book (Mexican Summer: Five Years) and 10″ vinyl album full of collaborations between the label’s artists. “Alive” is the surprising collaboration between Autre Ne Veut and experimental electronic producer Christian Fennesz, and it’s a brilliantly futuristic, slow-building, intergalactic voyage of a song, with Arthur Ashin’s voice taking flight over multi-layered, constantly mutating production.
