Here’s what we know about Ofelia:

– She was recently featured on Felix Cartal’s song “New Scene.”
– She lives in Topenga Canyon in a tiny house. It’s literally under 200 square feet.
– She also sings in Wanderhouse, a darker, moodier project.

That, and her new song “Hawk Fly Tiger Run” is a nice introduction, stripped down to the essentials and captivating for that very reason. While so much modern minimal music takes on a cold, dark tone, Ofelia maintains a bright, sweet spirit with this one. It’s not pretentious, it’s not trying too hard, and it feels like something that could play in a coffee shop and stand out among a mix of easy listening and folk. It’s updated with a modern twist, and it will be interesting to see where Ofelia goes from here.
