Katy B is probably best known in the States for her collaborations with artists like Diplo and Jessie Ware, but she is preparing to follow up her impressive 2011 debut album with Little Red, scheduled for release in 2014.
Produced by George Fitzgerald, “I Like You” is an education in house fusion. Katy B’s vocals don’t need much help to sound incredible, and Fitzgerald’s robot-rock that frames her voice here never gets in the way. It does, however, ramp up the intensity through repetition in a way we haven’t seen since a couple of English brothers who go by Disclosure. The song will appear on 5 A.M., Katy B’s next EP to be released November 4. Stream “I Like You” below.
