Yeezus Season is upon us. With Kanye West on tour, we're seeing another wave of theatrical stage set-ups and performances unlike anything else in hip-hop. Kanye West's tour openings are always impressive, epic spectacles, and the Yeezus tour starts with a bang, in the form of "On Sight," a ridiculously ornate, one-of-a-kind mask, and some eerily motionless white clad women.

"Black Skinhead," with its brutal, tribal drums, screamed lyrics, and clear passion encapsulates one part of what makes Kanye West such a great live performer. He gives 100% all the time, and the crowd never fails to respond to that sort of energy.

Kanye's concerts always have some brilliant crowd participation moments, whether it be thousands of people screaming "I sent this bitch a picture of my dick" during "Runaway," "fish filet" during the Watch The Throne tour or "hurry up with damn croissants" during this song.

With Chief Keef handling the chorus and liquor being the topic at hand, "Hold My Liquor" might seem like an obvious choice for party-starter, but the effect of this intense song is surprisingly sobering live. Instead of rocking out during the electric guitar, Kanye watches over an interpretive dance session. Not exactly a pre-game anthem.

Featuring a group of people on stage in body suits writhing around, looking like they're partaking in an orgy, the dark, carnal feel of the song is brought to life in a powerful way. Filmed from Key Area in Seattle on the opening night of the tour, the crowd probably didn't expect something like that.

Right from the start, the crowd is singing along and you can tell the energy is about to turn up when those big horns drop in. To match that energy: a little fire on the mountain.

It looks like Kanye uses this song as an intermission of sorts, turning the energy down. At one point, he just stands masked on the stage, speared by spotlights, while Cudi's voice rings out.

This song might sound like a banger through club speakers, but when Kanye's on stage with a handful of masked women robotically shifting on the sides of a mountain, "Send It Up" strikes a different chord.

"Bound 2" is like that breath of fresh air on Yeezus. There's still an element of abrasiveness that comes with Kanye's not-giving-a-fuck flow, but he holds the stage on his own for this song, lending a (slight) air of vulnerability that doesn't always shine through his grandiose Yeezus set-up.
