Kafka Tamura just dropped their debut EP, and the group is already placing themselves in the league of rising contemporary British pop acts who balance the accepted with the cutting edge. Lead singer Emma Dawkins is only 16 years old, but she’s sounding like a young Lily Allen, confident and engaging. Like AlunaGeorge, Kafka Tamura is taking traditional sounds and lacing them with very modern production. Emma linked up with German producers Gabriel Häuser and Patrick Bongers on Soundcloud, and the combination yields another new act worth keeping an ear out for.
