Pat Grossi’s latest offering as Active Child may not be coming out until October 22, but the Los Angeles-based electro-swooner is letting us have a listen to Rapor EP a week early by streaming the six-song collection in its entirety via Soundcloud.
In the two years since his breathtaking debut, You Are All I See, it seems Grossi has taken a turn down a more pop-driven path. The ironically grandiose “Subtle,” (featuring Mikky Ekko) and Ellie Goulding-assisted “Silhouette” are highlights, though each song strongly stands on its own. And even though the EP clocks in at a mere 22 minutes, each track’s sweeping, cinematic nature makes this sound like a full-length.
