The idea of “less is more” has become an increasingly popular belief in music right now. Yet not necessarily for the actual material being produced, but instead for the musicians themselves. While aliases and stage names are not a new concept for artists, it seems that now more than ever artists are presenting themselves in a mysterious—but nicely assembled—package. Just look at some of the most buzzed about musicians today: BANKS, Burial, FKA Twigs, Unknown, even The Weeknd who, despite seeing a steady rise to fame in the past few years, did his first interview ever just this past summer.

It’s this initial quality that provide the intrigue for Marian Hill, but it’s their music that keeps you hooked. “Lovit” is the Philadelphia duo’s new single, a track that uniquely blends touches of blues, electro-R&B and pop to create an alluring and utterly hypnotizing production. The group, who is comprised of Jeremy Lloyd (production) and Samantha Gongol (vocals), is set to release their debut EP this fall but we’re happy to premiere “Lovit” here today. Take a listen below.
