The first thing that struck us about young Bristolian singer-songwriter George Ezra was his raw, gravelly voice, which was given space to dominate the moving “It’s Just My Skin.” New song “Budapest” is more upbeat, with soft percussion and jaunty guitar joined, especially during the chorus, by vocal theatrics somewhat reminiscent of Ezra Koenig (maybe it’s an Ezra thing?) on Vampire Weekend’s self-titled debut album.
