Benin City has released the second single from their beautiful Fires in the Park debut. “Wha Gwan” has the same sort of full, brassy sound that made their “Faithless” so deliciously addictive, but the band has traded razor synths for a chorus of saxophones. The result is a sonorous melancholy feel that is a perfect balance between male and female vocals, synthetic and real instruments, and the emotional tug and pull that has begun to define Benin City’s sound.
