Video: No Age - "An Impression"

A color-tinted, abstract, stream-of-consciousness take on No Age's track "An Impression."

Dean Allen Spunt and Randy Randall make up the experimental, noisy duo of No Age, and the two have been prepping their next release An Object, the follow-up to their 2010’s Everything in Between. In anticipation of An Object‘s release on August 20, they’ve now dropped the colorful, abstract video for “An Impression.” The video debuted on SPIN and shoots streams of images and tinted-visuals over a single, unmoving square backdrop.

For this album, Spunt told SPIN in an interview that he wanted to create the whole album.

“I started thinking, ‘Well, I’m being asked to make a record, then I should start thinking about physically making a record,'” Spunt told SPIN. “And that was how I was able to begin writing for the record. The idea of, ‘Well, then I want to manufacture it. If I’m being asked to make a record, I want to make a record and manufacture the cover, manufacture the label, manufacture the vinyl.'”

Watch their efforts above, stream the full album on NPR or buy the full-length out on Sub Pop on August 20.
