Australia is experiencing a blossoming of young musical talent right now, and RY X is one of the performers right on the cusp of this movement. Living in Los Angeles now, the release of initial single “Berlin” highlighted falsetto croon and simple acoustic accompaniment. Just a few days later, he’s released “Vampires” and the results are similar. This is rainy day music— a soundtrack to stay in and contemplate eternity to. The slight hints of rhythm and noisemakers on this second song suggest that his music has the tendency to build upon simple foundations toward larger things.
