For “Tiff,” the first single off Poliça‘s upcoming album, Shulamith, out October 22, Justin Vernon lent a hand for a hypnotizing song fit for late nights and zoning out. The second single, “Chain My Name” feels like “Tiff” on speed. It’s just as melodic and features the same electronic, bass-heavy vibe accentuated by symphonic elements and manipulated vocals, but this one is more lively and energetic. It could almost be a dancefloor-slayer, but the drums are straight out of a rock song, and it puts this song somewhere between alternative and EDM—a place where Polica thrives.
